Flying it the fastest way, but Train would be the most fun. You need a Chinese Visa to enter China and you must apply in advance.

You can take a plane to Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, from Hong Kong. Then, you can take a bus to Yuanyang from Kunming.
You just need a tourist visa to go to Yunnan.

You can apply for a China tourst visa in HongKong.
1. Directly fly from HongKong to Kunming. Then take bus from Kunming to Yuanyang.
2. Enter Shenzhen from HK, then travel by train from Shenzhen to Kunming, and take bus from Kunming to Yuanyang.
3. I am not sure if there is direct filght from Hanoi, Vietnam to Kunming? if by train, you can travel from Hanoi, Vietnam to Nanning, Guangxi, and then from Nanning to Kuning, lastly and take bus from Kunming to Yuanyang.
